The Winter Coffeehouse Series

We began our traditional "open mic" coffeehouse series in January, 2001.  From the very first one, many talented local performers showed up, along with a warm and friendly audience.  This continues to this day.  Performers include musicians of all levels and ages and the audience is supportive of each performer no matter their expertise.  The types of music performed is as varied as the performers and audience.  Whether you are a performer or listener, you will find this to be an enjoyable evening of music and companionship for the whole family.

The coffeehouse series takes place monthly from October through March on the second Saturday of the Month.  It begins at 7:00pm and ends at approximately 10:00pm.  It takes place at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lexington, Michigan.  Admission is free to everyone but, donations are very appreciated.

Refreshments and snacks are provided by the Bluewater Folk Society and prepared and served by volunteers.  The refreshments include coffee's, hot chocolate, tea's and water.  Snacks include cookies, fruits, chips and other yummy items.

Performers wishing to play should arrive anytime after 6:00pm to signup.  Slots are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Slots are 10 minutes for individual performers and 15 minutes for groups.  It is very important to adhere to these times to allow time for other performers a chance to play.  A complete sound system is provided with vocal and instrument microphones along with direct boxes.  The only thing you need to bring is your acoustic instruments and a few songs to play.
